Wedding photography at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge

I was fortunate to be asked to help second shoot a beautiful wedding at the end of last summer in Cambridge. The ceremony took place in Great St Mary’s Church, just a short walk away from where the reception would be held in the awe-inspiring surroundings of Corpus Christi College. From beginning to end, the thought that had been put into the day was evident in all the little details – from the beautiful red rose arrangements for the church and the bouquets (which had been made by the groom’s mother) to the little fans left out on the table at the reception in case guests were overcome with heat, to the personalised little bottles of port left out on the tables for guests. I shot the wedding with Becky Kerr of www.beckerphotography.co.uk and loved every minute of it, from the bridal party’s walk through the streets of Cambridge through tourists and Saturday shoppers to the beautiful reception venue, parts of which resembled something from a Harry Potter novel with beautiful vaulted ceilings, stained glass and candelabras.

Wedding at Eversholt Hall, Bedfordshire

I was very lucky to second shoot a few times last year with the lovely wedding photographer Becky Kerr who is based in Ampthill, Bedfordshire. A second shooter at a wedding usually spends time with the groom’s party before the wedding while the main photographer is covering the bride getting ready. Having a second shooter at your wedding means that there is someone else to get another angle on the ceremony, to take reportage-style shots of the guests while the group shots are being taken, and generally just get a different viewpoint throughout the day.

One of the weddings I worked with Becky on was at Eversholt Hall in Bedfordshire which was a really stunning venue. Set in a typical English village, complete with cricket pitch and pond, it provided the ideal backdrop for a wedding where every last detail from the beautifully illustrated order of service, signs and activity books to the handmade bunting had been thought out. It was a lovely wedding to be part of and I enjoyed every minute of it. Here are just a few of my favourites from the day.

Nonsuch Mansion wedding – Gina & John

Nonsuch Mansion in Cheam was the setting for Gina and John’s late summer wedding. The sun shone and the beautiful house and gardens provided a stunning backdrop for the ceremony, reception – and their wedding photographs.
